Employee Spotlight: Meet Taylor Gill, Relationship Manager

Date: 04/01/20

Exencial’s employee spotlight series highlights the unique career paths and achievements of our dedicated team members. This quarter’s spotlight features one of our talented relationship managers, Taylor Gill. We were honored to welcome him back to our team in July 2019 after he interned with us at the beginning of his career.

In his current role, Taylor supports the financial advisors in our San Antonio office, working most closely with Kristin Carlton. He enables our advisors to devote more time to clients and field new business opportunities by managing customer service duties, such as setting up new client accounts, executing money transfers and preparing client reports.

As a relationship manager, Taylor is able to help both advisors and clients by successfully meeting client needs. Inspired by his career-long work with financial advisors, Taylor is currently studying for his Series 65 license, which will allow him to discuss investments with clients.

By sending trade requests to brokers and rebalancing client portfolios, he sees his study material in action every day. After obtaining his Series 65 license, Taylor plans to become a certified financial planner as he’s witnessed the advancement opportunity available in the field.

He had his first glimpse into the financial advisor role in 2015 during his senior year of college where he worked closely with Kristin Carlton at Netting & Pace, CPAs, which was acquired by Exencial in April 2016. After his internship, Taylor graduated from The University of Texas at San Antonio in 2015 with a degree in International Business — a degree that exposed him to a unique blend of history, politics, finance and management.

Following graduation, he spent two years with Sawtelle Financial Management, LLC., where he worked closely with the firm’s financial advisors. For the next two years, Taylor served as a private client administrator in the operations department of global asset management firm, AllianceBernstein. This role allowed him to gain back-office experience by training new employees and performing service work.

Ultimately, Taylor decided he favored a more client-facing role. As Taylor finished polishing his resume, he received an opportune call from Kristin inviting him to apply for the relationship manager role at Exencial. Taylor was well prepared for the position after gaining diverse experience with Sawtelle Financial Management and AllianceBernstein. Intrigued by the long-term career growth possibilities at Exencial, he joined the team with his eyes set on one day becoming a junior financial advisor.

Outside of the office, Taylor enjoys spending time with his friends and family in San Antonio — including 10 nieces and nephews as well as his 14-year-old border collie, Corey. Taylor looks forward to continued growth, learning and reaching new milestones in his career at Exencial.
