Behind much of how Exencial operates day to day is Megan New, Operations Manager based in Charlotte, North Carolina. This quarter, we are proud to put Megan in the spotlight, who joined the team a year ago and has spent that time building systems and investing in the people around her.
As an undergraduate at UNC Charlotte, she studied healthcare management and spent her early career in internal medicine administration. Her pivot toward operations and technology came during her time at a clinical research company, where administrative work evolved into a passion for Salesforce and data analytics. When the Operations Manager position at Exencial crossed her path, it felt like a natural next step. What set the firm apart was an interview process genuinely centered on its values, something she had not experienced before and that has held true in practice ever since.
In her role, Megan serves as the firm's Salesforce administrator while overseeing both the billing and administrative departments. Her responsibilities touch everything from vendor management and facilities to firm-level reporting that advisors and leadership rely on. Much of her recent focus has been on a data reconciliation initiative, building out a system within Salesforce to capture point-in-time records of key billing and client data. It is the kind of infrastructure work that rarely gets noticed until it is missing, and as the firm moves into its next chapter, that foundation will carry real value.
She will tell you the most rewarding parts of her work are, equally, people and data. Managing a team has pushed her in ways she did not expect, and she has leaned into it, focused on ensuring her colleagues have room to grow. The data collection side has been a happy surprise, turning unfamiliar territory into one of her favorite parts of the job.
Outside of work, Megan travels whenever she can. This past year alone has taken her to Ethiopia and India, and Barcelona is on the calendar before the year is out. When she is in Charlotte, she can usually be found at a live sporting event, out on Lake Norman with friends or working her way through her reading list.
