Tax Manager
Abraham Olalde, CPA
Abraham joined Exencial Wealth Advisors in August of 2022. He attended the University of Texas at Dallas and graduated with both a Bachelor of Science in Accounting degree and Master of Science in Accounting degree in 2018. Since 2019, he has held a license as a certified public accountant in the state of Texas. He began his tax career at the Ernst & Young Dallas office in 2018, working in their Private Client Services department for three years. His primary focus since then has been on the preparation and review of Federal & State tax returns for high-net-worth individuals, trusts & businesses as well as advising clients on tax compliance. Abraham is a veteran of the United States Air Force and is currently enrolled at the University of North Texas, College of Law where he is pursuing his Juris Doctor specializing in tax law.

Investment Operations Trader
Adam Cajandig
Adam Cajandig joined the trading team at Exencial Wealth Advisors in June of 2023. He collaborates closely with our seasoned managers and advisors on behalf of our clients. He recently transitioned from a trade operations role at Bank of America to full-time trading equities.
Adam was born and raised in Chicago, then traveled east to continue his education at West Virginia University. During his time there, he traded the markets as a form of personal income and simultaneously worked his way up to being Vice President of his college’s Investment club. Upon graduating with a bachelor’s degree in finance, Adam moved to Dallas, Texas to pursue his passion for the markets.
When Adam is not at work, he can be found doing several different interests such as martial arts, flying, woodworking, playing saxophone, or golfing. He is always looking to meet new people or be exposed to new things!

Assistant Tax Manager
Adin Miller, CPA
Adin Miller, CPA joined Exencial Wealth Advisors in January 2021 as a seasonal tax professional and became permanent in June 2022. Adin has spent a significant amount of his career working for various CPA firms ranging from 3 people CPA firms to Big 4 accounting firms. He has also worked in the private sector as well. Most of this working with Upper Middle to High Net Worth Individuals and their related entities, S-Corps, C-Corps, LLCs and Trusts. This work covered many areas: Planning, Tax Compliance, Research, and Tax Audit Resolution.
Adin is a licensed CPA and license life insurance agent in the state of California. He has BS in Business Administration from UC Riverside and MS in Taxation from Golden State University.
Adin lives in Long Beach, CA with his wife and his two dogs. He tries to combine his two favorite hobbies of traveling and scuba diving as much as possible. He has been to 6 continents and dove all over the world.

Alex Carlson, CFP®
Alex Carlson grew up in Dallas, Texas, where he developed a lifelong passion for athletics, competing in wrestling, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and collegiate Judo. A 2019 graduate of Texas A&M University, he holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics with a minor in history and has a particular interest in military history, as well as ancient Roman and Greek studies.
Alex’s interest in financial services began early, inspired by his stepfather, who was a financial guru within the family. However, his stepfather’s sudden passing during Alex’s senior year of high school left an indelible impact, as his family faced significant financial struggles due to a lack of formal planning. Witnessing the loss of wealth and the challenges that arose from it motivated Alex to pursue a career where he could help others prevent similar outcomes. He has been driven ever since by a desire to help families create secure financial plans, knowing that if he can help even one family avoid the hardships his own endured, it would make his career worthwhile.
He began his career building risk-centered financial plans for clients and then completed his licensing to become a Stockbroker at TD Ameritrade. He advanced to a role as a Financial Consultant at E*TRADE from Morgan Stanley, working exclusively with high-net-worth clients on wealth preservation, growth, and transfer. Before joining Exencial, Alex worked as an Associate Wealth Advisor in Private Wealth Management.
Alex holds Series 7, 66, and 63 licenses and recently earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® (CFP®) certification, enabling him to provide holistic, customized guidance in investment management, retirement planning, tax, and estate strategy. His CFP® certification reflects his dedication to ethical standards in financial planning, ensuring each client receives a tailored approach to meet their unique goals.
Outside of work, Alex leads an active lifestyle, enjoying time in the gym, watching football, and playing chess. He also spends time fishing and boating on Cedar Creek Lake.

Senior Tax Manager
Amy Sewell, CPA
Amy joined Exencial in November 2020 and leads the Tax services team for our North Carolina and Connecticut offices. She works closely with investment advisors and manages tax compliance and planning for tax clients. She is a CPA with a background in both public and private accounting. Her accounting career began in private accounting. She worked primarily with real estate investment firms in roles ranging from Staff Accountant to CFO, focusing on financial reporting. In 2010, her career shifted to accounting, tax planning, and tax compliance for high-net-worth families, and their closely held businesses and trusts.
She enjoys building and maintaining strong relationships with her clients. She assists clients with their tax planning and compliance needs, with an emphasis on developing strategies to help minimize income taxes. Amy graduated with honors from Texas Tech University with a BBA in Accounting and is a member of the AICPA and the Texas Society of CPAs.
Amy lives in Dallas, TX and has two children. Her son is in high school, and her daughter attends Texas Tech University. She enjoys attending live music events, spending time with family and friends, and traveling with her children.

Ashley Patterson
Ashley holds an undergraduate from the University of North Texas in Psychology. She currently resides in Denton, Texas with her husband and three children, Jayce, Braelyn, and Coy. Together with her family, she enjoys family lake days and spending time with extended family and friends.

Austin Winsett, CPA
Austin Winsett, CPA joined Exencial in March of 2018. He works with advisor team to deliver wealth planning services to clients. He collaborates and serves as a conduit between the investment and tax team in developing solutions for complex tax, estate, retirement, and investment issues. Austin always had a passion for investment and financial planning. He enjoys working directly with clients and helping them live fulfilled lives
Austin graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Masters degree in Accounting. Upon Graduation, he spent several years at KPMG where he focused on attestation services for alternative investments and private equity funds. He obtained his CPA license in 2016. Austin is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and Texas Society of CPAs.
Outside of the office, he enjoys spending time with friends and family, cooking, and being outdoors for a run or round of golf.

Becky Carpenter
Becky Carpenter joined Exencial Wealth Advisors in September 2021 as a Tax Administrator. She has over 15 years of experience as an executive assistant to many C level executives. She approaches all aspects of any job with a positive, hard-working mindset, and is passionate about helping find solutions to any challenges. Becky is a native Texan and was born and raised here in the Dallas area. She attended Dallas Baptist University, where she earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Education & Psychology. Becky currently lives in Denton, Texas with her husband, Glenn and two children, Cole & Avery and a bernedoodle named Aspen. In her free time she loves spending time with friends & family, being outside, traveling, decorating, watching my son play baseball and baking.

Cameron Edson, CPA
Cameron Edson, CPA joined Exencial Wealth Advisors in August 2022 in our team’s Plano office. He began his career as a tax accountant in 2013, and is licensed as a CPA in both Texas and Washington state. Cameron has worked in public accounting for one of the big four as well as a large regional firm, and has also worked on the tax team of a multinational corporation. He has both tax compliance and tax planning experience working in several different tax specialties – financial services, international business tax, high net worth individuals, small businesses, and trusts. Cameron strives to not only be a great tax advisor, but also a great business advisor to his clients.
Cameron graduated with his BBA in Accounting from the University of Washington, and with his Master of Business Taxation degree from the University of Southern California. Cameron resides north of Dallas, and enjoys watching college football, golfing, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.

Cydney Higgins
Cydney Higgins is an experienced marketing professional with over a decade of experience in developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies. She joined Exencial Wealth Advisors in January 2022 and currently serves as the Marketing Manager. In this role, she focuses on driving brand awareness, enhancing client engagement, and aligning marketing activities with the company’s strategic goals.
Cydney’s expertise includes integrated marketing communications, digital and social media strategy, lead generation, and campaign management. She has a background in building relationships with stakeholders, analyzing market conditions, and implementing effective marketing solutions. Her experience across diverse industries highlights her adaptability and understanding of market dynamics and consumer behavior.
Cydney holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Marketing from Southern Arkansas University.
Outside of her professional life, Cydney enjoys cooking, collecting vinyl records, and maintaining an active lifestyle through various activities.

Dave Totah, CFP®
Dave is driven by his desire and passion to help others achieve financial independence by offering objective and unbiased financial advice to those who are committed to achieving financial freedom in their own lives. He works closely with each of his clients to develop a customized financial strategy by utilizing a simple-to-understand process called the E3 Formula. With this process all of the pieces of the financial puzzle come together as economic or lifestyle needs change.
As a former 26 year Fortune 100 telecom professional Dave worked with business owners and executives developing strategies to improve their bottom line. Throughout his career he has always been known as an astute numbers guy. His successful management areas of expertise included roles in marketing, finance and sales operations where he applied strategic planning skills to drive results. His diverse background and training bring decades of experience and knowledge to his role at Exencial Wealth Advisors enabling him to provide expert wealth planning services for his clients to realize their own individual financial goals.
Dave is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM professional and holds a Life and Health insurance license in the State of Texas. Dave earned his Bachelor of Business Administration and Masters of Business Administration degrees from West Texas A&M University. Completed CFP educational requirements at SMU, Dallas, TX. As a CFP® professional you can be sure that Dave provides expert and professional financial planning services. To earn a CFP designation, Dave had to complete an approved educational program, pass a rigorous examination and meet stringent experience requirements. Dave also adheres to a professional Code of Ethics and he fulfills annual continuing education requirements to remain aware of current planning strategies and financial trends.
Dave and his wife, Ginny Totah, have lived in Plano, Texas since 1994. Dave enjoys the outdoors, golf, skiing and cars. Dave is also an active member of the Financial Planning Association of DFW.
CFP – The CFP® certification is a financial planning credential awarded by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. (the “CFP Board”) to individuals who meet its education, examination, experience and ethics requirements. Eligible candidates are generally required to have three years of financial planning related experience and possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited U.S. college or university. Certificants are further required to complete a CFP Board-Registered Education Program (or possess a qualifying professional credential), clear a personal and professional background check, and pass the CFP® Certification Examination, a six-hour multiple choice exam divided into two separate sessions. In order to maintain the certification, CFP® designees must also complete at least 30 hours of continuing education every two years on an ongoing basis.

Dodie LaPiana
Dodie La Piana joined the firm in 2013 after 9 years with Investors Asset Management, Inc. where she served as client services manager and compliance administrator. Dodie is a member of the Financial Planning Association and completed the Certificate Program in Financial Planning at Southern Methodist University.
Originally from Indianapolis, Indiana, Dodie earned B.S. and M.S. degrees from Indiana University and an M.B.A. from the W. Fielding Rubel School of Business at Bellarmine University. She enjoyed positions in firms ranging from dot-coms to Fortune 500 companies in both private and non-profit sectors.
Dodie lived in New York, Massachusetts, Virginia, and Kentucky before transferring to Texas. She and her husband, Don, have two grown step sons. Her interests include church activities, seminary classes, gardening, and architecture.

Jerry Georgopoulos, JD
Co-Founder Jerry Georgopoulos has spent his entire career in the financial advisory field counseling senior executives on comprehensive financial planning. He began his career in 1995 with The Ayco Company, LP, a Goldman Sachs Company, where he served senior executives with distinction at numerous Fortune 500 Companies. He joined KPMG to develop their employer sponsored executive financial planning program in the southwest and western regions. He then founded Executive Financial Group, a firm that continues to specialize in counseling corporate executives today as Exencial Wealth Advisors.
Jerry graduated from Villanova University in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and from Villanova School of Law where he earned his Juris Doctor in 1995. He also enlisted for three years in the United States Army, where he later received his commission as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Army Reserve as an Infantry officer.
Jerry and, his wife, D’Ann live in Corsicana, Texas.

John F. Brown
John Brown joined Exencial in August 2017 after 19 years an Investment Advisor at Bush O’Donnell in St. Louis. Earlier in his career, John spent ten years at the Petrolite Corporation working with refinery process chemicals and fuel additives, and three years at Maritz Travel Company as a Travel Director. He has managed several partnerships, held various Board seats, and chaired the Gross & Janes Company for 30 years.
John holds an MBA from Washington University and a BA from Pomona College.

Jose Rojas
Jose Rojas joined Exencial Wealth Advisors in January 2020 as a seasonal Tax Professional and became a full-time employee in summer of 2021 as part of the tax team. He began his tax experience at H&R Block preparing individual tax returns. He also worked at PwC in their State and Local Taxes (SALT) and for the High Wealthy Individuals team.
Jose graduated with honors from University of Texas at Dallas with a bachelor and Master’s degree in accounting. During his free time, he enjoys being outdoors and staying active as well as playing sports.

Mary brings over 20 years of experience in the accounting and tax field, including 14 years as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) serving clients at both local and regional levels. Michelle Murphy
Michelle Murphy joined Exencial Wealth Advisors in January 2021 and has worked as a Tax Administrator and a New Account Specialist prior to her current role. She now serves as a Relationship Manager for the North Carolina office and couldn’t be happier. Michelle excels in assisting clients with onboarding or account questions, entering data into multiple custodian software programs, and staying organized. Her willingness to help others and positive mentality are what make her a reliable addition to our team!
Michelle holds a Bachelor’s degree from Stephen F. Austin University. She currently resides in Princeton, Texas, with her husband and daughter, Mia. In her free time, Michelle and her family enjoy supporting their local Texas sports teams and taking their three Golden Retrievers on hikes. Michelle also enjoys staying very active in her daughter’s school and church programs.

Murphy Burns-Hein
Murphy joined Exencial in 2020 as a Business Development Officer. Murphy began her career in sales and business development in 2014 with the Phoenix Suns and continued her success with the Dallas Mavericks. Her ability to listen and understand the big picture for her corporate clients garnered her the top sales executive position at both NBA franchises during her employment.
Murphy exited sports in 2017 when she was recruited by Dinova as Regional Director of Partnerships. Her main focus was with Fortune 500 executives and the U.S. Department of Defense to grow and expand their bottom line.
Murphy enjoys developing relationships with her clients and understanding what is important to them long term. She brings focus, discipline, positive energy, and a fresh perspective to Exencial’s wealth management platform.
Murphy is a graduate of Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, and was a 2X All-American in Women’s Basketball. Murphy loves spending quality time with her family. She enjoys the outdoors, and has a passion for fitness and traveling.

Nancy Chapman, CPA
Nancy Chapman joined Exencial Wealth Advisors in January 2020 as a seasonal CPA and became a full time in fall 2021 as a part of the tax team for the Frisco/OK region. She began her career in public accounting in 2015, working at small and regional sized firms. She worked on a variety of clients, industries and returns and take good care of clients with tax compliance and planning needs.
Nancy is a licensed CPA in Texas since 2016 and received her Bachelor’s degree of business Administration and Master’s degree in Accounting from University of Texas at Dallas. Nancy is a Member of the American Institute of CPA, Texas of CPA and the Dallas Chapter of CPA Society.
Nancy is active in the community and regularly volunteers in and around Plano, where she, her husband, twin babies and her Bichon Frise live. In her spare time, she enjoys international travel, learning other languages and spending time with friends and family and explore local hidden gems.

Tony Saltarski
Tony utilizes nearly 15 years of experience in the financial services industry to help individuals and families navigate the complex decisions they face along their financial journey. He has a passion to serve, acting as their personal CFO, helping to prioritize and reach their goals in a thoughtful manner.
Tony started his career at Fidelity, serving their retail and institutional clients for nearly 5 years. He then spent the following 7 years with a national firm which taught him the benefit of offering a single source of advice as it pertains to tax and investment decisions, prior to joining Exencial in 2021.
His favorite aspect of working at Exencial is his ability to take that even further, utilizing the large team of experienced professionals, each an expert in their given arena, to provide expert guidance and a custom-tailored experience to each client across all the pillars of financial planning.
Tony graduated with a BBA in Finance from the University of Texas-San Antonio. He and his wife Jessica live in Irving, TX with their three children and Weimaraner, Boo. Beyond spending time with family, he enjoys grilling, fishing, golfing, and just about anything else outdoors.
